The big Sears Craftsman SAE tap and die set from the USA made era, and it is the high speed steel version, not the carbon steel Kromedge line. HSS taps hold an edge through steel and stainless where a carbon tap dulls or snaps, which is why this is the one machinists and mechanics hunt for. Every pocket in the case is filled: taps, hex dies, the wrenches to drive them, extractors for the bolts that already broke, and the tap drill chart molded right into the lid so you never have to look one up.

Condition

Complete set, good used condition. Every pocket in the case is filled and you can count them in the photos. The taps and dies show light use with clean threads, no rust and no visible damage. The large tap wrench shows finish wear on the body and the case has shelf scuffs and a worn label, all cosmetic. This is a working shop set, not a display piece, and a USA made HSS set like this is a real step up from the carbon steel sets on the shelf today.
